Flying Scotsman (Limited Edition)
The Flying Scotsman is arguably the most recognisable and famous steam locomotive in history. It left Doncaster Works in February 1928 to begin a life of service, covering almost 2 million miles across British railways until it was retired in 1963. Six years after it rolled out of Doncaster Works the Flying Scotsman set a world record as the first steam locomotive to hit 100 miles per hour in 1934; almost almost thirty years after it was retired the Scotsman set its second world record for longest non-stop journey by a steam locomotive in 1989 - almost 422 miles across Australia!
Although long since retired from official duties the Flying Scotsman is now held privately and still makes public appearances across the UK. Over its lifetime it has appeared in numerous liveries, but it shown here as LNER No 4472 (as it would have looked setting its first world record in 1934). If you would prefer to see it in another livery or with any minor changes, then please get in touch for a custom variation!
These are part of a Limited Edition print run of 50 at each size. All prints are individually signed and numbered by the artist.
Prints are available at A4, A3 and A2. All are made as high-quality Giclée prints on heavyweight matt Hahnemühle German Etching Art Paper (310gsm). Please note that this is a high-quality archival cotton-based fine art paper; it should be handled and mounted carefully!
All prices include postage and packaging. Express and international shipping is available at additional cost.
